Kayra Atasoy (b. 1998, Turkey) is a photographer working between documentary and personal practice.

She photographs out of a desire to remain close. Her work grows from an ongoing negotiation with change, distance, and the fear of disappearance. Beginning with lived experience while reaching beyond autobiography, her practice is driven by a search for emotional evidence.

Her photography explores migration, belonging, identity and individuality — focusing on individuals and communities navigating the tension between staying and leaving, often those in in-between spaces. Blending portraiture with memory, abstraction and storytelling, her broader body of work also encompasses youth culture, gender and underrepresented voices.
